Christopher Howell came to Cain as a winemaking consultant in 1990, becoming Winemaker and General Manager in 1991. With the support of owners Jim and Cindy Meadlock, Howell focuses on fine winegrowing—following the process from the vineyard into the winery and finally the glass. Prior to Cain, Howell honed his craft at Mouton Rothschild, Clos du Val and Peter Michael. He studied viticulture and enology at the School of Agronomy in Montpellier, France.
